Core Applications
The bloxberg association hosts a suite of applications for the governance of the network, as well as some network core services
Validator Information
Transparency over the bloxberg validator nodes.
The Validator dApp gives an overview of the research organizations and people behind the validator addresses that confirm the transactions in the network. Only bloxberg members have access to the ‘Set Metadata’ area.
Node Monitor
Overview of the network validator nodes.
The bloxberg node monitor shows the status of all bloxberg validator nodes in real-time. A detailed overview of the uptimes of the nodes can be viewed in a graph.
Blockexplorer
All activities on the bloxberg blockchain.
The blockexplorer shows a wealth of information detailing current transaction statuses, such as pending or confirmed smart contracts that have been deployed and can be interacted with, and a detailed and transparent look into the overall activity of the network.
Certification
Blockchainify Your Research
Protect your intellectual property and safeguard it against potential future scooping by generating a unique identifier from your data that is stored on the chain. You can create a certificate to prove that this information belongs to you or your organization.
With bloxberg, research claims are not limited to one institution alone but can be confirmed by the whole trusted network. Additionally, researchers can leverage bloxberg to create a transparent footprint of their work without revealing its content. They can generate a certificate proving they uploaded this data at a specific time, protecting them from being scooped or IP stolen.
Verification
Look up your data on the blockchain
Bergs Faucet
bloxberg network faucet to recieve △ bergs
The faucet dApp is primarily for providing bergs to users of bloxberg. In order to interact with blockchain applications or deploy smart contracts, bergs are utilized for this interaction. The faucet guarantees that people who wish to build on bloxberg or utilize the functionality of the apps will be able to do so. A wallet can tap the faucet two times within 24h.
Governance Voting
On-chain voting for new members and BLIPs of the bloxberg Association – Restricted access
Member Applications
Consortium/Association members and scientists develop apps or dApps running on top of bloxberg. The aim of the bloxberg association is to encourage the development of apps that benefit the scientific ecosystem.
The following are an exert of the numerous applications which were built upon the bloxberg network.
INPTDAT- The Data Platform For Plasma Technology
The interdisciplinary data platform INPTDAT provides easy access to research data and information from all fields of applied plasma physics and plasma medicine. It aims to support the findability, accessibility, interoperability, and re-use of data for the low-temperature plasma physics community.
The project QPTDat – Quality Assurance and Linking of Research Data in Plasma Technology aims at enabling and permanently supporting data-driven research and knowledge transfer in the field of plasma technology. For this purpose, curation criteria and metadata standards are to be developed in accordance with the FAIR Data Principles.

The BISE Student Platform
An Open Access Publication Platform for Student Theses.
BISE Student makes publishing excellent student theses much easier for students and provides an open and highly visible platform revealing the real worth of Bachelor, Master, and Diploma theses. It utilizes the innovative potential of distributed ledger technology to archive the system’s three primary design goals: ease-of-use, openness, and content excellence. The only centralized component of the system is a web platform providing a user-friendly submission process and easy access to the theses library.

BarterMachine
BarterMachine is an autonomous decentralized exchange (DEX) that can be used to barter fungible and non-fungible (NFT) tokens collectively. It also provides features such as clubs which are communities, and browser-based solution miners that let users find bartering solutions and submit them to earn excess tokens as rewards. Bartermachine is an academic/educational system developed to teach about and experiment with decentralized Barter Economy on blockchains.

MatLab Integration
This use case is implemented by recording the SHA-256 hash, which is considered a strong cryptographic hash function by the German Federal Office for Information Security, together with additional metadata as a transaction in the bloxberg network The transaction creation timestamp acts as a public record, proving the existence of the certified data at this point in time. It is, therefore, possible to later verify the prior certification of a file by looking up the timestamp of the first transaction containing its SHA-256 hash in the bloxberg network.

Peer View Aggregation
Researchers generally agree that peer review is important to maintain the quality and integrity of scholarly communication. However, the recognition and discoverability of peer reviews in a systematic way is challenging because of the multitude of stakeholders and discrepancies between systems that report peer review statistics. We propose a blockchain-enabled application that empowers researchers, publishers, and other stakeholders to integrate and access peer review information in a decentralized data structure. Furthermore, due to the cryptographic, immutable, decentralized, and autonomous nature of a blockchain, we can ensure data security, privacy, and provenance. Ultimately, this ensures that no central or individual entity will have complete ownership over the valuable data contained within while still ensuring that peer review metrics can be attributed properly.

Seafile Integration
The Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL) provides for all researchers of the Max Planck Society and their partners a Sync & Share service called Keeper, based on the software Seafile. The MPDL integrated a “fire and forget” certification of single files or batches of up to 1000 files at once with the single click of a button. The application has natively inbuilt versioning and stores the certified version of a file or snapshot of a folder for the user while also reconciling and matching the respective and individually per file-created certificates. Optionally, metadata can be included in the certification. No data or metadata will be exposed, ensuring the user’s data privacy while providing maximal certification security through the unique properties of a blockchain, combined with the user convenience of a fully versioned data life-cycle and added file-matched certification storage.

SAIRA
The new Open Access Hub area on SAIRA®, developed by Fraunhofer FIT and Fraunhofer, enables fast and easy sharing and publishing of the latest research findings on COVID-19. To secure the authentication, ownership, and integrity of information, the platform is integrated with the bloxberg Blockchain. The bloxberg consortium member Fraunhofer Society launched the SAIRA® Open Access Hub platform with the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology FIT in cooperation with the Secretariat of the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO). This platform now enables fast and easy sharing and publishing of the latest research findings on COVID-19. The Open Access Hub gives everyone the opportunity to upload technologies and information that can help fight the pandemic and make them publicly available.
The high-quality standards will be ensured by a panel of peer reviewers from WAITRO partner organizations and Fraunhofer. The panel checks every publication made on the platform before they go online.
Furthermore, the Open Access Hub is integrated with the bloxberg blockchain. Thus, in addition to the quality check mentioned above, the platform is secured against manipulation and guarantees the authenticity and integrity of all content with a Blockchain infrastructure. Therefore, all submissions on the Open Access Hub can be proven authentic and unaltered.
