bloxberg
THE ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF SCIENCE AND BLOCKCHAIN e.V.
HERE IS WHAT OUR MEMBERS ARE SAYING
...bloxberg is being run in a very professional and transparent manner with all important decisions such as allowing new members being voted on the blockchain itself...
ARSHDEEP BAHGA
GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY - USA
The bloxberg initiative is providing blockchain for science with the aim to enable researchers around the globe to collaborate...I am convinced that bloxberg will be a great success, supporting next generation digital research.
PROF. DR. ROMAN BECK
IT UNIVERSITY COPENHAGEN - DENMARK
...The bloxberg blockchain has created a space where authors can time stamp and save the peer review reports they received for their manuscripts from reviewers before publication…
PROF. MARIA FRAHM-ARP
UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG - SOUTH AFRICA
With bloxberg, a new era has begun. Now the data world has a new dimension: time
DR. FRANK SANDER
MAX PLANCK SOCIETY - GERMANY
Understanding the economic opportunities and consequences of blockchain technology requires understanding the technology. And the best way to do that is through hands-on live examples.
PROF. BRYAN R. ROUTLEDGE
CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY - USA
… Blockchain can stamp every step in the research process. By such approach scientists can experiment and share their results without complicated and expensive intellectual property protection procedures…
PROF. NEVEN VRCEK
UNIVERSITY OF ZAGREB - CROATIA
bloxberg is the academic answer to Ethereum. We need a decentralized place to digitize academic processes with low fees and quality control by the global academic community…
PROF. DR. PHILIPP SANDNER
FRANKFURT SCHOOL BLOCKCHAIN CENTER - GERMANY
Understanding the economic opportunities and consequences of blockchain technology requires understanding the technology. And the best way to do that is through hands-on live examples.
PROF. AKIHIRO FUJIHARA
CHIBA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY - JAPAN
...What I like is that bloxberg consists of researchers representing different disciplines and we not only focus on technical aspects of blockchain, but the discussions and initiatives are far broader and can lead to disruptive changes in multiple areas.
PROF. RADOSLAW MICHALSKI
WROCŁAW UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY - POLAND
Open source software has been leading the way for Web 2.0 for a long time and the advent of decentralised censorship-resistant networks is now leading the way into Web 3.0. The chance to bring this ethos to open publishing and academic networks is a tremendous experiment I wanted to be a part of.
JEFF NIJSSE
AUCKLAND UNIVERSITY - NEW ZEALAND
We believe that bloxberg has the potential to sustain itself, to attract many students and researchersto develop high impact and revolutionary services on it and to evolve into a major high quality and high value global blockchain.
PROF. DR. CAN ÖZTURAN
BOGAZICI UNIVERSITY - TURKEY
As an active member of the bloxberg consortium we not only contribute to a decentralized infrastructure for innovative academic services, but we also build up competences regarding Blockchain Governance and Evolution.
FELIX HOOPS, M. SC.
TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF MUNICH - GERMANY
...bloxberg provides an efficient, secure, transparent domain for academic institutions to share their discoveries and resources while protecting intellectual property ...
PROF. DR. SEVIN YELTEKIN
SIMON BUSINESS SCHOOL | UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER - USA
Free access to a modern blockchain is essential for state-of-the-art teaching and project development at universities and universities of applied sciences. We are proud to be part of a worldwide network of renowned universities and organizations that can provide such an infrastructure and services based on it in an energy-efficient way.
FH-PROF. DI ALEXANDER MENSE
UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES TECHNIKUM WIEN - AUSTRIA
We are enthused to leverage this global network, enhancing our capacities in innovative research and contemporary teaching infrastructure while supporting energy-efficient, cooperative scientific endeavors across the globe.

BLOXBERG INITIATORS
In 2019, eleven world's leading research institutions from ten countries founded the novel bloxberg consortium at Ringberg Castle on Tegernsee in Bavaria. The original idea came from two employees of the Max Planck Society:
FRIEDERIKE KLEINFERCHER
MAX PLANCK SOCIETY
“We were very surprised to learn that there has as yet been no global approach such as bloxberg to meet the specific needs of the scientific community in the blockchain world. This is why we decided to create our own, public, approval-based, and transparent blockchain. So whoever operates a bloxberg node is publicly known and has to fulfil the consortial criteria.”
DR. SANDRA VENGADASALAM
MAX PLANCK SOCIETY
“We constantly hear from our researchers that they would like to have a ‘timestamp’ or a certification option for their research data, hypotheses, and methods – especially before they are published. Blockchain technology is the natural answer to solving this problem. But not just any blockchain – one made by scientists for scientists!”
